Taking a Break!

Update time!

I just turned down a chance to work in Qatar, it was interesting but not a place I could see myself staying in for the long term.

Recently I was looking at a friends pictures of Ireland that they had put together in a great program called blurb. It can be found at www.blurb.com. It allows you to create a book for yourself and the have it printed. What a great idea, I was thinking about how parents could make a kids book or a anniversary gift, you know stuff like that. Then my buddy said to me, "why don't you make a cookbook?"

That got me thinking, could I? Should I?

So I thought why not, I do have lots of pics of my food and a ton of recipes stashed away. So I'm going to do it. Once it's done I'll post a link here so if anyone is interested they can get a copy.

This could be fun and filled with the same irreverence and politically incorrect comments you've come to know me for.

Well folks, it's time for me to take a break from this crazy business. I need a little time to re-group and make some decisions as to Asie's future. I will be relocating. Just not sure as to where yet. I have been getting lots of pull towards a larger city, such as Toronto but an not sure yet if that's where I want to be.

I have been offered a few amazing opportunities to work in Asia and learn (that means stealing recipes in Chef speak). I just have to sort of a few things before I can make that happen.

It's been a very tough decision, one that has been on my mind for the past couple of months. Close associates have convinced me to put away my stuff and give myself a little breather before making any big decisions regarding the future of Asie. Good advice for sure.

I must admit I am a little sad about this, I was all ready for the new season and had a great crew lined up to work and an exciting new menu to go with them, but things have not panned out as I had hoped.

I'd like to thank everyone who has been so supportive of Asie in the past. It has been a true joy to meet and feed you.

Keep coming back here to see what's going on. I'll try to keep you posted.

Thanks again.

Kim
